Beating the Heat: Essential Hot Weather Car Care in Malaysia

Why heat is your car's worst enemy

Constant 33°C+ weather accelerates battery wear, degrades engine oil faster, and raises tyre pressure. A few simple habits go a long way.

1. Check your coolant

Top up with the correct coolant mixture — never plain water alone. Inspect hoses for cracks every few months.

2. Watch the battery

Heat evaporates battery electrolyte and shortens lifespan to 1.5–2 years in our climate. If cranking feels slow in the morning, test it before it strands you.

3. Mind tyre pressure

Hot roads raise pressure. Check pressure in the morning when tyres are cold, and follow the placard on your door sill.

4. Protect the cabin

A quality tint film blocks UV and can cut cabin heat dramatically — your dashboard and upholstery will last years longer.

5. Service on schedule

In hot climates, engine oil works harder. Stick to your service interval — or slightly earlier if you do lots of short city trips.
